In plain English: Keep My Bond is a free tool that gives you general information to help you understand a bond dispute. It is not legal advice, and its estimates are not a promise of what NCAT will decide. Use it as a starting point — and for anything that matters, check with a free Tenants' Advice service.
General information, not legal advice
Keep My Bond provides general information about the NSW residential tenancy system, grounded in the Residential Tenancies Act 2010 (NSW) and published decisions of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal. It covers NSW residential tenancies and NCAT only — it does not apply to other states or their tribunals (such as VCAT in Victoria or QCAT in Queensland). It does not provide legal advice, does not take your specific circumstances into account as a lawyer would, and using it does not create a lawyer–client relationship.
Estimates are not predictions
Any figures, ranges, or likelihoods the tool produces are estimates based on patterns in past cases. They are not a prediction or guarantee of what a Tribunal Member will decide in your matter. Every case turns on its own facts and evidence, and outcomes vary. The tool is AI-assisted and can be incomplete or wrong.
Check anything important
You're responsible for your own decisions about your dispute. Before you rely on anything here, verify it — and for advice about your situation, contact a free Tenants' Advice and Advocacy Service (find yours at tenants.org.au) or the Tenants' Union of NSW on 02 8117 3700. The tool does not lodge documents, file anything with NCAT, or represent you.
Using the tool responsibly
Please use Keep My Bondfor your own genuine tenancy question, don't misuse it or try to break it, and don't paste other people's personal information that you don't have a right to share. Don't rely on it as your only source for an important decision.
No warranties, and your legal rights
The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, and to the extent permitted by law we aren't liable for any loss arising from your use of it or reliance on its output. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
